I've made it a part of my business to provide support; I've arranged for
other highly qualified designers to do much of my work. It seems to be
working; what goes around comes around.

i.e., lifetime upgrades. A highly-placed Protel employee actually once told
me "you should not have to pay another penny for the rest of your life." I
take that as an enthusiastic "thank you," not as a contract

Can't speak for the others, but I work from the time I get up (~6-8am) til
the time I go to bed (12-3am). I have no life. I have no wife. (thoguh I'm
workkin' on that one). I enjoy writing. I enjoy coffee. I enjoy
engineering. I play and write music on my computer. I play
guitar/bass/key/harmonica when I'm bored. I have a life. I am a work-aholic.

pretty simple if you ask me.

Oh, and-I-read-really-fast.

Re: [PEDA] Protel Support Came Thru ... Hooray!!

2001-05-07 Thread Jenkins, Charlie

John,
I didn't even bleed. I mentioned in a sarcastic way in the Forum that it
was very nice everyone else was using their Camtastic except myself ( It had
not arrived). Support picked it up off the list and sent me an email asking
where to ship it.
That's service.

And while I'm here I would like to thank all those that contribute to this
list to make my job a LOT easier. I don't see how some (Abd ul,Andrew,
Brad, Geoff, Ian.) can find the time to put in so much content. I can't
find time to read it all let alone respond like they do. I think Protel
should compensate their un-official employees, perhaps with a lifetime
license.

Re: [PEDA] Protel Support Came Thru ... Hooray!!

2001-05-07 Thread John Lemburg

Good point, Andrew ...

Start Protel with the Control button pressed. That way, the goofies that
caused the
crash in the first place do not get invoked by Protel and you can get back
up
quickly.

Only problem is that on my windows nt 4 system pentium iii and all that, it
took
over 2 minutes for the picture of the man at the keyboard to go away ... and
that
was only because i was talking on the phone to support.

hint: when you start protel99se using the control button hold down deal,
wait and
wait a long long time ... go for coffee, etc., before you give up and use
task
manager to end protel. hope this helps the people on this forum.

Thanks. Many thanks again. Cheers. John

I'm glad you're going to get to "sreep" (whatever that is )

Since this was such an active thread, what was the solution???

Your post could eventually save someone else a lot of pain...
