Jamie, as per your comments below there is an issue with the Protel pick n place centroid location. I don't use the pick n place output typically so bear with me if something is not quite right. In the pick n place CAM generation Protel has a couple of options for locating the centroid of parts. One option uses the reference point of the land pattern (0,0). The other method uses a calculated center of the part based upon pad locations. For this reason your library parts must have the land pattern designed with the centroid location at 0,0 in the library or Protel is going to calculate the center of the part based upon the pad locations. The calculated centroid location will work fine for most of the components but you will have difficulties with parts like D2PAKs, DDPaks, Sot89s, SOT143, etc., etc., where the pads are not symmetrically arranged around the centroid of the part. There is no ability to use either methodology on certain parts so you are stuck with one methodology or the other. For this reason I would suggest that all your land pattern centroids be located within the library at 0,0 and use the origin/reference method of selecting your pick n place output. As for your query about setting feeders and other issues for pick n place, this would be a function of other software which should be centered around the needs of you P&P machine.
