[protest-ro] HotNews - Controversa europeana: Avem nevoie de rosiile cu gust de apa?
Practic, si eu umblu (cand am timp si ocazia) prin pietele CELE mai sarace - unde mai am sansa uneori sa gasesc cate o babutza sau o tzaranca saraca, cu rosii tzaranesti, din acelea nu prea mari, cu seminte si cu aroma adevarata, de rosii ;) Ma simt si bine, de altfel, cumparand de la asemenea persoane, uneori le dau chiar mai mult decat cer - si pt. ca asta le ajuta, si pt. a le incuraja sa mai cultive astfel de rosii (e valabil, de fapt, si pt. altele ;) Cam in vara trecuta imi spunea un taximetrist ca baiatul lui are sere - si zicea ca are niste substante cu care injecteaza rosiile, pt. ca acestea sa capete rosul acela natural, cu toate ca ele sunt cultivate mai mult cu ingrasaminte si in conditii mai putin naturale :( Eu sper sa NU dispara babutzele care au inca rosii tzaranesti - si nici semnitele acelor soiuri de rosii ;) Codruta http://www.hotnews.ro/stiri-opinii-2287953-controversa_europeana_avem_nevoie_rosiile_gust_apa.htm Acum cateva zile, lucrand la un raport in comisia mea, am remarcat urmatoarea fraza: ne exprimam regretul ca Executivul European a ratat ocazia de a rezolva problema importurilor de mancare si mancare pentru animale, care nu corespund standardelor UE. Aceasta propozitie m-a pus pe ganduri si m-a facut sa ma intreb care este standardul UE in agricultura, si daca acest standard serveste oare, cu adevarat, interesele consumatorilor. Prima mea legatura cu protectia mediului s-a produs in copilarie, dar numai datorita faptului ca eram un impatimit al desenelor animate, iar singurul post de atunci, TVR-ul, transmitea, in fiecare seara, Captain Planet. Probabil ca acest erou este deja depasit de eroii din desenele de azi. Dar, pentru mine, a ramas unul dintre personajele cele mai indragite si imi aduc aminte, chiar si acum, multe dintre sfaturile despre protectia mediului inconjurator promovate de aceste desene animate. Ca sa-l chemi la viata pe eroul principal, era nevoie de cele cinci elemente, care in natura creeaza si sting viata: pamantul, apa, focul, cerul si, nu in ultimul rand, dragostea. Pe de alta parte, imi mai aduc aminte din copilarie, cand, la orele de religie, preotul ne spunea o predica despre taranul care, incercand sa aiba o recolta bogata, ii cere lui Dumnezeu puterea de a controla vremea. Ca urmare, tot anul are ploi abundente, soare din belsug, dar, cand ajunge sa culeaga recolta, observa cu surprindere ca spicurile sunt goale. Drept explicatie, Atotputernicul ii spune harnicului agricultor ca a uitat vantul, care mangaie si polenizeaza spicele. Mai mult, divinitatea il avertizeaza ca oricat de simpla pare la prima vedere, natura este un organism complex, imposibil de controlat de oameni. V-am amintit de aceste doua exemple pentru ca, pana acum catva timp, mi se parea de-a dreptul inimaginabil sa putem creste plante fara apa, fara pamant, fara soare si fara vant. Dar se pare ca am reusit sa inventam chiar si acest lucru. Dar oare viata noastra a devenit instantaneu mai usoara si mai roza?. Sau suntem martorii unui revers al medaliei? Am citit acum cateva zile o relatare despre vizita colegului si prietenului meu din PE, Peter Olajos, intr-o ferma care respecta standardele UE. Curios fiind, Olajos a ales o ferma dintr-o zona cu pamant fertil de secole, care corespunde standardelor si rezista competitiei de pe piata europeana. Numai ca amicul meu a ramas foarte surprins sa gaseasca o ferma care arata, mai degraba, ca o fabrica. Mai mult, plantele nu intrau in contact nici cu pamantul, nici cu apa, nici cu soarele si nici cu vantul. Toata productia se decurgea civilizat si controlat. Se poate controla culoarea si forma rosiilor prin calculator, de unde poti seta, de altfel, cum sa arate si cat de rezistente sa fie legumele. La vanzare, cele mai importante caracteristici, atat pentru producator, dar si pentru supermarketul care cumpara, sunt forma, culoarea si lungimea perioadei cat planta rezista pe raft, toate celelalte caracteristici fiind secundare. Sunt un consumator care nu este interesat in mod deosebit de forma, culoarea, sau nici macar rezistenta produsului la timp. Ma intereseaza, mai degraba, pretul si, in mod special, gustul produsului. Pe langa aceste doua lucruri, incerc sa fiu atent ca produsul sa aiba un impact bun asupra sanatatii mele. Asa ca, de obicei, incerc sa cumpar produse naturale, chiar daca acest lucru devine din ce in ce mai greu de realizat. Oare viitorul nostru inseamna sa uitam notiunea de natural si sa o inlocuim cu cea de bio sau cea de organic? Oare este in beneficiul nostru sa acceptam si sa ne obisnuim ca toate produsele sa fie din ce in ce mai artificiale, iar cei care cumpara alimente numai din magazinele bio sa fie considerati niste ciudati de restul societatii? Probabil ca aceste intrebari inca par indepartate de noi. Zambim, pentru ca stim ca nu avem o agricultura performanta, dar macar e bio si inca se mai gasesc pe rafturile magazinelor noastre produse

With defeat looming, as it always has for every attempt in history at occupying Afghanistan, George Bush is desperate to get other countries to deploy more forces. But instead of responding to his pleas, the coalition countries are falling out amongst themselves, with Canada now threatening to withdraw all its troops, and others, like Germany, saying they will not send troops to South Afghanistan, where much of the fighting is taking place. Stop the War Coalition is calling an emergency protest on Wednesday 6 February. We do not yet have details of Rice's meetings with Gordon Brown but we anticipate that our protest will be at Downing Street, the timing to be announced as soon as her plans are known. This aim is unravelling in Afghanistan, which is why Condoleezza Rice will be in London next week. But she will also be here to discuss Iraq, with the recent bombings in Baghdad giving the lie to US claims that the US troop surge is bringing stability to the country. And Iran will also be on her agenda, with recent statements by George Bush showing he is still itching to launch an attack.
