Looks like their CMS is changing the src attribute on each load.
Nothing at all to do with Proto/scripty at all.

I agree. The effect on oskaarchitects.com is not client-side. It's
definitely server-side generated.
With that said it could be done client-side.
* Make an array with paths to desired background-images
* Generate a random index into that array
* Set the background-image style on the body
