I have the same year Mac and I had to get a dif wire because the firewire on
that mac is Mac proprietary. I don't have the details right now, but you can
google it, I got mine off of Ebay for about $10

Is the name dif wire? Strange that the firewire thing on the mac is
proprietary, that's not good at all methinks, but well i have to see what i can

Simply put you need a firewire 6 pin to firewire 9 PIN cable. The
firewire 9 pin slot is the one just after the 4 USB ports on the back
of the 2011 iMac. Read on for a more detailed explanation. Mac
Proprietary is a bit misleading here. There are three firewire size
plugs and two firewire
Yep, what he just said. If you go to a Mac store it can run $30 or $40 in my
neck of the woods, so keep that in mine if you don't get it off line.

I'm on Lion with PT 8.4, VO didn't do a thing, I got a couple values to change,
but it seemed to be hit and mis, as I paged back and forth on the control
surface, turning pots left and right. between the possibility of 2 or three
pages with 8 pots that's 24 possibilities for maybe two settings
I haven't picked up a new pre yet, I have two still and don't want to try and
put a bandaid on anything if I don't have my recording chain consistent. I am
wondering if I should invest in a couple channels of good converters before i
think about picking up another pre amp. Any thoughts, views

Hiya mate, I won't go into all the cabling studs since everyone else clearly
knows much more than I do, but here's what you'll need to do once you get the
cable.
Firstly, head to the setup menu, and click on peripherals.
In there, press on the MIDI controllers tab, or press the relevant
Hi I actually got a cable and got it all to work, don't ask me how. Now next
question, where do you decide what audio interface to use. Another question
