Hi,
You have three units: The first is the Artist Mix, which has 8 motorized
faders, 8 rotary knobs and the common controls on a channel strip; Solo, mute,
record enable and select, all per track. The second is the artist transport,
which is a transport controller with a jog wheel, a shuttle
Here are my thoughts on the Artist series. This is my 2 cents, and everyone's
workflow is different. Your mileage may very.
I trained 2 clients on the artist series and didn't like them for a few reasons.
1. Design:
I don't like the fact that connecting 2 devices, IE, the fader pack or
that would be great to hear more.

The Artist series consists of a few different surfaces. I can't recall the
specifics but one is a basic 8-fader unit, another is an 8-fader expansion

so a question.. To get a scrub wheel and all that, would you suggest 1
over the other?
or do you have to have both of them.

You can use them separately.
For the money, I recommend the Mackie Control Universal Pro.
It's got everything you need for controlling Pro Tools, Logic, Cakewalk,
Reaper, and others.
It runs for about 11 hundred, but is seriously a better bang for the buck.
Mackie has been in this space for
Having both a series of track control strips (faders, solo, mute, record
buttons, etc.) is useful for working faster. For precise editing, a scrub wheel
is indispensable. Having everything in one package, as Kevin suggested, is, of
course, the most desirable option. Having the option to use a
That's awesome, very nice. I'm assuming it has a scrub wheel and
everything? I'm just trying to get specific model numbers down and
everything, just cause it's kind of important when it comes to
accessibility. Mackie has always made some outstanding stuff, it's amazing.

Hi Krister
I had a similar problem where the digi 003 buttons were triggering my sounds in
plug-ins such as superior drummer, trillion etc. This is what I did to fix my
problem. Not sure if it'll work for yours but give it a try and see.
Go to menu, control-option-M

Hi,
This has to be tested. One question though, if i uncheck that port, can i still
set parameters in the plugin using the 003?

Guys,
Be aware that everybody's MIDI setup is different and one person's port 3 can
be different from another's port 3 depending on what's connected to the
computer. Just saying...

Oh wow, I didn't know 11.4 is now out. I need to figure out how to get
ahold of it, provided that they didn't break much with accessibility, which
I highly doubt they did.

Hi, this fixed the problem partly. No sounds were triggered in the midi plugin,
however, parameters couldn't be changed in the plugin using the 003, so i'm
basically back to square one. The strange thing with all this is that in for
example Arturia Cs80V i don't have any problems with sounds
Big +1 for the Mackie Universal. I've dabbled with plenty of the
smaller surfaces and imitation options, but always end up coming back
to the Mackie, and it always works when I do.

That's awesome, you've pretty much sold me on it. I just talked to the
guys at Sweetwater, and they suggested it as well.
I'd like to talk to you more about the Mackie, just to get a general
layout of it to go voer some stuff if that's cool. Protools is going to
be new to me, but i'm really
Hello,
I don't have the original message but the latest version is 11.2.1 and is
accessible.
