Ah, one more thing. Here's a YouTube demo from Russ at Pro Tools Expert showing
how you can route Main stage Sounds (and, technically, Logic sounds as well)
into Pro Tools using the free Soundflower utility:

This was all possible back when Pro Tools 10

I'm cross-posting as it may be relevant to some users in the Logic forum.

TO clarify on something Scott Said, MainStage has most of the logic library,
but i don’t think its all of it. To Echo what Gary said, Use Garage Band to
get familiar if you like what you see then you can upgrade, but If you don’t
feel like you are lacking anything no need to dabble. For Exampl
Brian just hardpan your voice Q and your click track two left. And do all of
your other tracks that the house needs out front here and hardpan them to the
right. You could do things in GarageBand import them in your ProTools project
and just hardpan them over to the right to come out front. Th
I'm sure a couple of people downloaded the free SoundToys H3000 plug-in when it
was available a while ago but I'm not sure how many users here have used the
rest of their plug-ins. Aside from the H3000, I don't recall any mention of
SoundToys among users on the list. I've liked the SoundToys stu
Hi Brian,
I've done this on several occasions but the difference here is that it was only
for performances where I was the only one performing to the accompaniment
tracks I had previously recorded. The issue here will be slightly complicated
by the fact that you'll want others to hear the click
Hello all,
I am a worship leader at a large church in our area, and I am looking to be
able to set up click for our band to use for our worship sets on Sunday
morning. I would also like to be able to record rhythm tracks such as loops
and other filler instruments to help fill the song up as wel
Chris, my advice would be to stick with one daw and learn it well
enough to fly around it. Otherwise you'll end up like me, dabbling in
different daws and not getting really fluent with any one of them.
I'm now a logic guy but have been on this list and have been using
Tools since version 8. and,
That's my situation, I use VO for Pro tools strictly. Even my newest Mack is
Boot campt and I haven't even fired up the OSX side once.

Hi Jakub,
If a HUI surface isn't required for using your system, I'm sure many of us
would be interested in testing your solution. All of the things you mentioned
are accessible within Pro Tools with VoiceOver but it sounds like there's
potential for better, that is, more immediate feedback of
Hi,
Anyone who has followed this list for a while knows my frustrations when it
came to getting off the ground with Pro tools. I have had Logic now for less
than a week and i am or soon will be off the ground and recording with it. I
always felt i didn’t know half of what i had to know and even
Hi Scott, hi collegues,
thanks very much to everyone for those helpful answers! I'll have a look at
PT 12.3 a try it out with VoiceOver as soon as I can. My biggest concern
are the AudioSuite plug-ins (as they aren't accessible from the controller)
and the track view inside the Mix window.

Seconding what Slau said here. The thing with Logic and GB especially
as well is since it's designed by the same folks that design the OS
and the screen reader a lot of the functionality works the same across
the board. For example the commands for resizing or moving regions

There's more bundled synths and samples with Logic. Most of that
content sounds better to my ears, but that's subjective. So far as I
know though, Main Stage has all the same content and is a hell of a
lot cheaper. If you're happy with Pro Tools as your DAW, maybe that'd
be the way to go.

Guys,
Here is my question. For the past 3 years now roughly, I have been a very very
happy owner of ProTools. I am not wanting to steer away from ProTools. OK,
let me make that very very clear up front. I love ProTools and will support
its use for as long as I possibly can.
What I am howev
Hi Ashley,
Yes, managing multitrack recording and editing, editing grouped tracks, MIDI
editing. Most importantly, however, as I mentioned before, what the blind Logic
users need more than anything is an expert to know the ins and outs. That, in
my opinion, is currently among the biggest hurdle
Slau,
Is there anything specific that springs to mind that can’t currently be
achieved with Logic? I’ve been playing around with it over the last couple of
days and the latest version seems to be very accessible indeed. I haven’t taken
it into the studio yet, but my preliminary findings are posi
