Running a project studio without a control surface?

Hello everyone, I am in the process of reopening my project studio. In the past I always had a control surface, I still have my 003, but am going to be moving on and upgrading, I don't want to lose the efficiency and workflow that I gained with the surface, does anyone have any thoughts on this?
