For mobile purposes I want to use my Focusrite Scarlett 2I4 and at home my

Exporting settings from the I/O window and importing after switching interfaces
works well for me. I use 3 interfaces, by different companies, and this seems
to work.

I Haven't use my num pad for step record but I have used my Kurzweil K2500x
midi keyboard to step record midi notes before! :)
