Re: problem deleting selection

2015-03-29 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi tom,

One of two things might be happening:
1. Make sure you have track and edit selections linked as well as the edit and
timeline linked. this is under the Options menu. It sounds like you might not
actually have the track selected and/or the edit selection is not actually
linked to the timeline.
2. You might not have waveforms being displayed. Make sure you see the word
waveform in the track view of the Edit window.

Check those things for now.

HTH,

Slau

Try using the delete key instead of the backspace button.

Can't Automate Plugin with Voiceover

2015-03-29 Thread Chi Kim

Hi All,

Is there way to automate a plugin parameter with Voiceover? As far as
automation record, everything is set up correctly.
If a sighted person moves the frequency knob on 1 band EQ with mouse
during playback, it draws an automation curve and records it. However,
if I interact with the same parameter and change the value with
Voiceover during the playback, it doesn't draw the curve even though the
same knob on the screen moves.
I'm away from my control surface, so it'd be great if there's a way to
do this with Voiceover meantime.

I'm on Mavericks with PT 11.3.1.
Thanks all,

Chi

What mac would you use when working in PT?

2015-03-29 Thread Mac Egbert
Hi,
I am in the research mode for buying proTools and a computer for that purpose
alone.
My first thoghts went to a Mac pro 6 core with 32 gig internal memory.
The whole configuration would cost more then 7000 euro's.
now I find the newest iMac. In its largest configuration it comes close to the
standard mac Pro.
So my question is, with a five year vision in mind, the constand use of
VoiceOver, and protools 12 with the abilaty of working with video also, could
the newest iMac 5K in its largest configuration (I7 quat core, 4.1 gig and 32
gig intern memory) do the job, or could I better invest in one of the heavyyer
 Mac Pro's?
thx,
Mac
