SSD’s load faster and sample libraries operate at their best wen they have
quick access to read /load the data they need to be playing back in real time
while you are playing the instrument. Recording is writing to the drive and
your standard HDD is plenty fast these days to handle the writing
Ok, so one TB external drive should do it. Is there a HDD brand or model I
should look into?

You can use your Two TB ports any way you see fit. A second one is nice to have
because not all devices have two thunderbolt ports on them. Forexample the
Focusrite Clarett interfaces only have one Thunderbolt port on it so if you had
a computer with one thunderbolt port, you couldn’t also
Interesting question. I have two TB ports on my Mac. One for Audio interface
and I thought the other for external drives. Is this a waste of an TB port?
Secondly. Is it true it is best to have PT and all other associated recording
software on one drive with a dedicated recording drive.
