I fixed it by doing the following:
1. google search freetype-2.3.11.tar.bz2 and download.
2. copy step 1 package into directory /usr/local/ptxdist_archives
and now it builds.
I hope this is the correct work around though.

I executed ptxdist go but I received an error, I attatched the terminal log
file. I copied from more or less where i could see the first error occured.
Not sure what its complaining about, looks like somthing in gdb itself.

I'm still wrestling with setting up Qt Creator for my mini2440.
I found some instructions,
First, ssh needs to be installed on the mini2440, and I saw an OpenSSH
option in the ptxdist menuconfig, so I'm assuming its right, (please let me
know if its not).
Second, I'm stuck on
navigate to the folder, I can see these files there. Not really sure
why its complaining.

mini6410 to play around with) which was ptxdist 2011.03.0. is there a way
to switch between the two versions? In the documentation it states that you
