Issue #12504 has been updated by Hailee Kenney.
On the release version of precise:
code
prepuppet@ubuntu-12-04: /etc/apt$ facter operatingsystemrelease
12.04
/pre
/code
Do we really need to fix this since it's fine on the release version?

Bug #12504: operatingsystemrelease doesn't work for Ubuntu
Issue #12504 has been updated by William Van Hevelingen.
It fails because facter is looking for a number and doesn't handle the string
(development branch). This won't be an issue with the final release of Ubuntu
12.04
