Hi,
Angelos is right. Building QGIS for Application:Geo is based on packages from
the default repositories (python, ...) and from Application:Geo (geos,
gdal, ...). If you use other repositories for kde, qt, python etc. qgis will
likely fail.
I hope this explains your problems.

Yes, this is the best solution if you have upgraded KDE to 4.8

It would actually be very nice if the georeferencer tool in QGIS could
also handle vector layers. I would assume that much of the code from the
existing georeferencer could be re-used to also make vector
georeferencing work.
I think it is annoying that one cannot easily transform vector data

Hi all
There is a new editing tool in the master branch.
The offset curve tool creates parallel shifts of linestrings and polygon
rings ( single sided buffers with the geos function
GEOSSingleSidedBuffer ). The tool can be applied to the edited layer
(the geometries are modified) or also to

A suggestion I would have is to not put the Offset spin box in the status

tool. This would allow more options, or info, to be added to the tool
later.
Also if editing the value doesn't change the result of the tool I would
Hi all!
I'm trying to import in QGIS some data of TopCon GPS.
Does someone know if there is a plugin or a simple way to do it?
The typical format of Topcon data is .fce.
Thank you!

Hi Elena.
Can't TopCon produce a GPX file, at least optionally?

Hi Amedeo
To use the FILTER and SELECTION parameters, a newer version is needed.
It will be contained in the upcoming 1.8 version.

Hi Denis
In certain cases, geos trunk throws an exception (version 3.2 crashes):
ERROR 1: IllegalArgumentException: RobustDeterminant encountered
non-finite numbers
I noticed it happens often with lines with dense vertex distributions
(e.g. segmented curves). Maybe Sandro (strk) knows more
Seems possible, as the bug appears when one segment of the line is
getting very very small.

Hi again,
As there are three settings for this tool in the digitizing tab, I
suggest to have a distinct category: just write Curve offset as a title
and indent the 3 settings, as this is for the rest of the tab. What do
you think?
There is a small typo: Mitre in the combobox and Miter in
Thanks to Angelos, my QGIS 1.7.4 is now working fine from the Geo repository,
with full python plugin functionality.
The problem was my fault, for including the factory repository as well as the

Much appreciated guys!!!
This is why OpenSuse is the supreme Linux GIS platform!
