[Qgis-user] hdf4 support

2020-10-29 Thread Dominik Schneider
Hi, what is the best/recommended way to include hdf4 support in the latest 3.16 qgis release? I downloaded the all-in-one installer for macos from qgis.org . when I run gdalinfo --formats in the terminal I only see hdf5. NASA MODIS is still distributed with HDF4. Thanks Dominik

[Qgis-user] Couldn't load SIP module

I have been using QGIS a lot recently.  All of a sudden it gives "Couldn't load SIP module", which is a Python problem with QGIS that has been around for many years. I TimeShifted back about 3 days and the problem is solved for now, but I just wanted to get this recorded. Here are a few

Sounds to me like it could be permissions issue, or could be group policy related or something depending on the environment. I would start by going to C:\OSGeo4W64, check the properties>>security>>advanced and add a new rule for the current user with full control, just to see what happens...

Hi, I'm trying to install QGIS using OSGeo4W on a new Windows 10 computer. I've tried several options. I started with the "express desktop install". The installation runs smoothly. After installation, the splash screen appear and goes until the message: QGIS is ready! But then, nothing happens.

There have been discussions in the past about methods or plugins that will "package" your project for distribution, but generally with mixed results. As others have stated, you can create a new geopackage and add the connection in the QGIS browser which will allow you to store the project file

Hi António (hi Luigi), Before saving the project, you must create a connection (in the browser panel) to the geopackage. If you don't create the connection, you are not able to save de project in the geopackage. This additional step is not "user friendly", but it is required right now. Regards,

I'm not a Mac guru, but it seems you have a (security ?)  problem zipping the project (.qgs) into a zipped version (.qgz) . Try to save the project as an unzipped project file: In menu "Project"-->"Save As",  choose file type: "QGIS files" instead of "QGZ files".  And save the file in a
