able to get it to work with QGIS.
If you specify //localhost/YOURSID as database name OS authentication will kick
in.

. That should only be required now if you
wanted to go back from the development version to the current release.
To me the actual numbers are irrelevant, it's just important that they are
monotonically increasing and that includes the development versions.

the problem. DefaultInitEnv is a mod_fcgid directive. AFAIK that works
just fine. Not sure why that page tells you to switch it off.

The OSGeo4W installer does not come with a mod_fcgid.so file.
There is a mod_fcgid package[1] in OSGeo4W.

participate in the test phase starting in ten days
(2014-01-24), test, report as good as possible to get QGIS into the best shape
on release day.
Starting to test after the release will only help 2.4.

The last nightly builds already depended on gdal-ecw/mrsid and in turn the
next weekly will, too.
Correction: Only the 64bit build already did
in.

with the about screen: On 64bit, I always get the
upper or lower part of it, without any chance to adjust it to screen
size. The 32bit Version of QGIS 2.01 does not show that behaviour.
Right. Although that's such a minor issue, that I didn't take the time to look
at it.

can hardly think of anything that could be missing
in 64bit that would cause that.
OK, not your part of the project.
Right, but not even anyone else's part of the project - it's not part of the
project at all ;)
