Ah, that's right, forgot to mention, that's why I use the provincial GSB[1] in BC for CSRS transformations. The license is a little different =) You have to get written permission (could be via email) to use the GSB in that FTP. >From the license[2]: "The NTv2 SOFTWARE, GIRD SHIFT FILES and

Hi, I have been looking at that. If I understand, that grid is for the nad27 to nad83 (original). Updated version of nad83(csrs96) known as nad83csrs or nad83(csrs98) are not included. I think the trx software is the only ways out for those. I and sending email to see if other grids exist

The NTv2 GSB[1] for Canada is shared under the "Open Government License - Canada"[2]. I made a request some years ago and they did it! So it's definitely a good step forward. I'm not a license guru so not sure if it can be packaged and redistributed with FOSS (ie, QGIS or proj). I know for

Hi Nicolas and André, To be honest I don't know much how you setup QGIS properly to use the grid shift files. I just wanted to say that the support is there, but probably needs some improvements or better explanation/documentation. For my own country's date shifts, "it just works", probably

Hi Nicolas, That is not exactly true. QGIS can very well cope with grid-shift based transformations. This requires an adequate grid shift file (a gsb file), which should be placed in the folder share/proj National mapping agencies typically provide these grid-shift files. As an example, our

Hi, It is my understanding that the parameters used in QGIS for that transformation are not sufficient and will simply lead to a change in EPGS code number with no actual changes to the coordinates. If you are dealing with data in the 20k to 250k (like topo maps, SRTM), you can go ahead with
