Re: [Qgis-user] plugin doesn't find exiftool executable

2016-10-05 Thread Reginald Carlier
Thanks Alexander,

I couldn't find the documentation because in the plugin manager the links point
to locations which are not available.
Maybe you can edit these links. :-)

It does. Now I see, you just do it wrong and without reading documentation :-).

"ExifTool Config" field used to specify custom config file, not executable.
Path to executable file should be configured in plugin settings.

Please check documentation at
https://github.com/NaturalGIS/geotag_and_import_photos/wiki

Hope this helps

Glad it was useful and helped you to solve issue.

Regarding documentation, seems old project page was removed, I will
update links ASAP.

Feel free to ask if you have any other questions/issues.

Where should I change the settings?

th executable file.

Hope this helps.

[Qgis-user] plugin doesn't find exiftool executable

2016-10-04 Thread Reginald Carlier
Hi Alexander,

I installed the plugin in QGIS 2.16.3.
When I run the 'Import photos' tool I point the ExifTool Config browse button
to the exiftool(-k).exe that I have downloaded from
http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/index.html
I installed the windows executable.
When running the 'Import photos' tool it gives following error:
Can't locate exiftool executable! Make sure it is installed and available in
PATH or alternatively specify path to binary in plugin settings (which is what
I did I think?)
Is there another place where I can set the plugin settings? Should I rename
exiftool(-k).exe to exiftool?

Regards,
