If I want to combine my line which is currently in three segments into a single feature how do I do that? Do the different segments have to have identical end points to join properly? (At the moment there are small gaps between the different segments.) Maybe now v.clean is the right tool. I love it ;) Select "snap" there and set the threshold for the estimated width of your gaps + x. If this doesn't work (documentation refers to vertices snapped to lines, not vertices to vertices), try the same, but leave the so threshold low that it will not trigger a snap, but go to the advanced settings and rise the threshold for snapping there. This is a different function in GRASS, where you can perform basic cleaning and snapping while importing the data set into GRASS. I think that you will then still have separate features, but spatially aligned. If your line segments have a common value or id, try "Line dissolve" from SAGA in the toolbox. Anyway, hard to give the proper hints without seeing the data. For me it's always a trial-and-error-game, too. Re: [Qgis-user] Showing all items in attributes table
Hi, sounds like something really went wrong while digitizing. Try the GRASS function v.clean with "rmdupl" from the toolbox to get rid of the duplicates. Or try "Multipart to singleparts" also in the toolbox to create unique entries for your lines in the attributes table. Cheers Bernd Am 03.08.2016, 10:41 Uhr, schrieb simonc8 : I've digitised a shape file layer with several polylines. In the Attribute table it shows 8 items, but in the metadata for the file it states there are 14 features. If I open the shape file in another GIS programme it comes up with 17 polylines, some of which are duplicates of others. I would like to clean up the file in QGIS and remove the duplicates but if I can't get these to show up in the Attribute table I don't know how I can select them to delete them. Grateful for advice. -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/Showing-all-items-in-attributes-table-tp5279224.html Sent from the Quantum GIS - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org List info: http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user Unsubscribe: http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user -- Bernd Vogelgesang Siedlerstraße 2 91083 Baiersdorf/Igelsdorf Tel: 09133-825374 ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org List info: http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user Unsubscribe: http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
