Most people with whom I exchange emails top-post. This group comes through
my email account rather than my Usenet account so there will always be a
chance I'll forget.

Heavy endorsement. Such a tiredome trek 'cos there is so little "snipping".

Has Tony counted the votes ?
Was that a quorum ?

If you must write below atleast have une blank line, not all mailers use a
colour differentiation.

Evening Dilwyn,

It's only taken until today for me to realise that the 'cakking' was a
TF mistype of 'calling'...

where I come from,Cakking is not calling - it's having a poo!
:-)

Cheers,
Norman.

Off to Egypt for a week. Alison needs (!) another holiday!

Have fun.

BTW, as the front page of the current QLT has it, it should have been "Cakking
Dylwin" (8-)#

[Ql-Users] Quanta News

2010-04-02 Thread Dilwyn Jones
I'll soon be compiling the Quanta news columns for our next issue.
Once again, I would appeal to anyone with QL-related news they'd like
to see in print to send it to me as soon as possible, ideally to the
email address news AT quanta DOT org DOT uk

(8-)#

We have to choose one only and my vote (along with the *whole* of
usenet) is for bottom posting (with quoted text at the top).

In fact one gets flamed on usenet for bottom quoting.

This also adds the benefit of making judicious editing feasible.

However the main reason for needed top quoting is that it is very very
hard to pick up a thread if you did not start at the beginning.

We must choose one, and top quoting, in fact, seems more common here.

I too prefer top-posted messages as I rarely look at the quotes, having
usually seen them earlier in their original messages, but will endeavour
to follow the majority when using a particular group.
