As I said to "Computer Research Centrum" (who are you?) privately:

I'm new in this mail list. You can't know anything about me, I'm
known as dex on the QL Forum.
"Computer research" is my email account dedicated to mail lists about
computers, not a real company.

Any serial port. 4800 with std QL (unexpanded or otherwise).
19200 with Hermes (ser1/2) and over 56k with superHermes (ser3).

Motivated to find some SuperHermes.

.. and there is QL dirver software.

Good job then.

I make no apologies for the 'advertising'. I am not involved
commercially in any way.

I understand, this is not commercial announcement.
However, I wanted to express my interest.

1. Get a drive which is working and not damaged/dead. ;-)

Always a good idea.

2. Set SCSI ID to 0 (No jumpers inserted).
3. You hear the drive making some noise at system startup.
4. FORMAT it.
5. Up you go.
...
BTW: There's no information concerning the drive on the Thor
startup-screen.

@Bob: Did you ever see such a message on any Thor computer?

I just assumed the Thor would do as the Qubide IF and reports the
connected drive models.

I have no experience with Thor hard drives, never seen one in action.

[Ql-Users] Some good news on adding a Rodime RO652 harddisk to a CST Thor XVI

2011-04-26 Thread Urs Koenig (QL)
In January this year I've asked for support while trying to add a second
hand harddisk to one of my CST Thor computers. Not much feedback received
then (BTW: Thanks Bob).

Now I have good news. I've received a second harddisk some weeks later and
thanks to the long eastern weekend I found the time to tinker again.
Solution was easy:
1. Get a drive which is working and not damaged/dead. ;-)
2. Set SCSI ID to 0 (No jumpers inserted).
3. You hear the drive making some noise at system startup.
4. FORMAT it.
5. Up you go.

See last two pictures in this set:

BTW: There's no information concerning the drive on the Thor startup-screen.
@Bob: Did you ever see such a message on any Thor computer?

Cheers, Urs

Those are great news!

Amongst the peasantry it is said as "Tea she" but in what might be

of water - Loch, or as in Van Goch (when not the American removal firm -

If you are referring to the Dutch painter, this is spelled "Van Gogh".
Where both G's are pronounced as the throat rasping in Loch.
As is usually the case with "ch" as in Scheveningen.
A sound used often in Dutch and used as a test for native "Dutchness".
