You likely got confused with the Q40 and Q60. You definitely have a QXL.
I have the original software called SMSQ somewhere at home - I'll search
for it when I get home.
There is a more modern version of the operating system software called
SMSQ/E, the 'e' standing for 'enhanced'. Main difference being that it has
the 'pointer environment' windowing system included. A
Yes, it's definitely a QXL card... made by the late Stuart Honeyball of
Miracle Systems.
The ports are for the QL network as Graeme said... to connect to other QXLs
or standard QLs. A standard 3.5mm double ended jack cable is used.

The card you are referring to would be the 'QXL'.
Those two 3.5mm sockets allow you to connect to the standard QL Network.
The DOS binary for the QXL includes the SMS(Q/e) binary that runs on the
card itself and the latest version can be found alongside the other SMSQe
distributions on

Hmm not sure where I got QX40 on - thats the label I stuck on the card.
On the reverse of the card it says 'Miracle Systems Ltd QXL 2B'
I found a few hits for that, but still no software. It looks like the
'sockets' are for the QL network.
