If this is moved you either see what's beneath the main window (two layers down) or an array of small lines seemingly unconnected with anything. OK, the small window moves, but it is not as elegant as it should be. Has anyone tried this? This seems to be true for all secondary-windows on top of a primary, in PE speak. I tested it with SuQcess. Either with Menu_rext menus or my own, created in Basic with EasyPtr4 or QPTR, the result is the same. Parts of the primary or the background image shine through but the pixel are not vertically aligned properly, giving a distorted background. At one time I did get a partly undistorted background, from another job's primary, where the SuQcess primary was covering it. Yeah, this was a side-effect of the fact that I'm actually working on QPC2 v4, which was supposed to be a surprise but after Jochen's mail probably isn't anymore :-( Anyway, I had to disable some new v4 code to create 3.40 beta 3, as I wanted the new screen driver to be beta tested before I release v4 with it. The common factor ALWAYS seems to be WLMail, but as I always have it running it's impossible to tell if that or anti-virus or what causes the problems. I'll try the PC left on overnights with just one program running each time, then try combinations to see if it's one program or a combination. I haven't had time to put the latest QPC2 beta 3 on the netbook, which has Windoze 7 Starter - will report back on that when I get the time.
