Hi, Anybody care to recommend a good setup for scanning messages going through qmail for viruses. I see in the qmail website add-ons for doing this which obviously attach to an existing virus scanner. Has anybody actually done it, and so can recommend a working setup? Thanks

What I want to do is kind of a weird set up but I think it should work. I've got a customer that wants virus scanning on there mail at the server. I have a really nice qmail+vpopmail+qmailadmin set up that hosts mail for about 30 domains I don't want to (the hardware won't permit it either

Does anyone else use the linavx scanning software from AVP? I did find a way to update the definitions with it and It don't pick up the snow white, kak vB or navidad. It did catch a pretty park but that was it. Are there any other scanners that will scan mail already on the system for these?

Does this amavis catch macro viruses, is it updateable? Amavis integrates with other packages that actually do the scanning. Amavis's job is more to unpack the mail and decode attachements, then call the virus scanner(s) on the unpacked mail. I think amavis supports three virus scanners
