Did you edit the file on a windows machine in notepad? If so it could have a ^M at the end of every line in the file that you cannot always see with vi. Try vim . Also where is you .sock file for mysql. I had a system once that was looking for it in 2 different places.

Well, the guys at inter7 came through big time for me. It was a simple problem when you think about it,but once again not seeing the wood for the trees is the case. The mysql.sock file was not readable by the vpopmail user Vpopmail was working on the cli as you are root when you execute this

I'm actually not familiar with the chkuser patch, but I will look at it. The spamcontrol patch does more than just check users before delivery and I hate to lose functionality, so do you know if the chkuser patch has similar functionality. I'm sure that the patches probably conflict, so I
