We are struggling to build daemontools on our centos 4.6 x86 machine.

If so, please post more of the contents at the end of build-recent.log,

How did you go about migrating the domain?
In particular, how did you create the users?

If you are having this issue with all of the users on this domain then I
would check the /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains and
/var/qmail/control/rcpthosts files. Also, can the user send an Email to
themselves?

Both files look fine, and yes... they can email themselves.

I have two clients who we've recently moved from our older toaster to our

Both use outlook/outlook express, and both can receive incoming mail, but

Fine. The only perl module I suspect might make a difference would be MakeMaker.

Jack,
I highly suggest using the rpmforge repository/yum to update Cpan just
does not seem to have the latest stuff...

Unfortunately, our new toaster is old enough not to have 587.
Most of my modules are installed using CPAN, so I am not going to un-install

modules, just because it seems easier to install and maintain.

The likely error is in your tcprules.d/tcp.smtp file
By default, the system will only allow mail to flow THROUGH the server
(in other words, RELAY) from users ON the server. You'll need to add one
of the following lines (Only 1 is required -- the 1 that applies to your
LAN network) to allow
While that method will work, it is somewhat risky. If a user on one of your
relayed subnets picks up a piece of malware that send emails, your server
could become blacklisted rather easily. It's better to get authentication
working properly. ;)

Hmm. All of our vdomain clients are offsite--i.e. they all connect via
port 25 to send (there are no LAN connections to the toaster via private
IP) outgoing mail through our toaster.

Not easier...'bout the same. Some modules are just not on cpan - that is
the issue. Up until I did the upgrade for qmt, I have always used cpan as
well.
You also do not have to uninstall and reinstall... Just get the repository
rpm, install it and then use yum...

I believe that
a) you're talking about Outlook 2003 (Outlook 2007 lets you select between
none, SSL, TLS, and Auto)
b) said box in Outlook 2003 does *not* enable TLS. It may enable SSL, I'm
not sure. At least that's what my experimenting has shown.
Just want to be clear about this, Tim. ;)
Tim
I don't have Outlook 2003 available at the moment but I just checked using
Ethereal and Outlook Express 6 negotiates a TLS session with my toaster.
Also, according to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839629, TLS support was
fixed in the post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package for Outlook 2003.
