I haven't run imap4-ssl, so I don't know about that.
I *am* running pop3d-ssl, and my log shows no such error.
My /etc/courier/pop3d-ssl contains TLS_CACHEFILE=/var/run/couriersslcache
I'm running courier-authlib-toaster-0.58-1.3.1, courier-imap-toaster-4.1.1-1.3.2

When expiration kicks in (either manually or auto), a new bayes database is
created in place of the old one. This is sometimes created with user root,
even though the running process is vpopmail (why, I don't know). You need to

ES,
The vpopmail was patched to fix this, but upgrading can make things
not take effect. For example if the courier-authlib is installed while
an older vpopmail, and a new vpopmail is then installed,
courier-authlib will exhibit behavior from the previous vpopmail.

Quick question, did you upgrade to the latest versions or did you
upgrade from previous versions?
Depending on what versions you started with, the order in which you
upgraded the binaries
