Hello,

I am trying to reach Mr. Lubin. I am with the National Disability
Institute. You can learn more about us at www.realeconomicimpact.org.

We will be hosting a Financial Inclusion Summit in New Orleans on September
20th. The focus is to build a bridge between the disability and financial
communities to help improve financial wellbeing for people across the
spectrum of disabilities. Participants will learn about ABLE accounts (
www.ablenrc.org/about/what-are-able-accounts). One of the major projects we
manage is the ABLE National Resource Center (www.ablenrc.org).

We have hosted Financial Inclusion Summits in Seattle (9/16/16), Chicago
(10/25/16), Columbus (11/16/16) and Orlando (8/22/17). Here are links to
the event materials.

www.realeconomicimpact.org/pages/columbus-summit

www.realeconomicimpact.org/pages/orlando-summit

Workgroups have been formed in each city, to continue the collaboration
between the disability and financial communities.

Would Mr. Lubin would be willing to send the invitation out to his contacts
at disability-related nonprofit organizations?

Here is the invitation link.

Thank you for your work of sharing disability resources.

Warm regards,

Hope

No, But wish I could replace mine. I've had every test possible, but they still can't figure out the cause of my pain.

Packard's Tar Soap, has been around since 1920's. It comes in bar form .
Some don't like the smell of tar soaps, but it is a very clean smell. I
used to pay 50 cents for a bar. Today, it is more that $5 dollars, if you
can find it on the internet.

[QUAD-L] Itching scalp

2017-08-25 Thread Bobbie Humphreys
Someone was asking about what to do for itchy scalp.
I gave the wrong information.
Here is the correct information.
I use V O 5 hot oil treatments
It moisturizes the scalp and softens your hair.
Sorry about that, Bobbie

My husband has many allergies and I have an SCI. Years ago we discovered
Kirk's Castile Soap and neither of us has had any problems with it. You
can find it online for about $1 a bar if you do a careful search.

[QUAD-L] Itchy Scalp

2017-08-25 Thread greg
I have had such an itchy head, been driving me Crazy. I tried so many things. Some helped a bit, but only short term. I even cut my hair supper short. I know its more than 1 cause. The way I sleep seems to put a lot of pressure on my head and when I move my head, it makes my hair bend backwards. I wake-up with “Hurt Hair”. I also have a stupid cowlick in my hair, right in the back. An area where the hair grows in a different direction. Cutting it helped. Then there is just the itchy, flaking. Went to a 2nd Dermatologist and he said my flaking was yeast. Dandruff has a few causes and on people that are not real mobile, yeast can be one of them.

I'm trying a new shampoo Rx only. Ketoconazole Shampoo 2%

I think its really helping. I just hope it lasts.

I don't know if you are dealing with what I've dealt with, but don't scratch
the itch!  Not only does it get worse, but I doubt it will ever heal up
properly because of all the time we spend in bed without moving around.  At
least that's my issue.

[QUAD-L] surgery issues

2017-08-25 Thread glenn henry
 hello all,

I am going on my 52nd year post sci. I have used a Foley catheter the
entire time and the bladder of course is nonfunctional and giving issues.
The urologist is sending me to a specialist with the thought of removing
the bladder and using an ostomy.

Anybody ever go through something similar? I have the typical quad gut,
where all my organs have drop-down and are pushed together. Is my opinion
this could be a problem should I need surgery.

I had surgery on my leg almost 30 years ago and because of things not being
where they belong the surgeon nicked the artery and I lost nine units of
blood. Luckily another surgeon wanted to observe and was on hand to assist
the main surgeon. When he went to talk to my wife he was in his white
scrubs which was covered with squirts of blood and it freaked her out.

I'm really hesitant about surgery again and I wanted to find out if anyone
has any complications during surgery.

Thanks,

Glenn

I use Oil of Olay hot oil treatment, it moisturizers my scalp and makes my hair
VERY soft.
I also get "cow licks" because I spend A LOT of time in bed.
