Re: [QUAD-L] About craigslist and a nice 2005 handicap set up van for sale
Just make sure you check the history report on any vehicle you are going to buy. You'll need it's VIN # to do this. CARFAX is a good site to get reports. I would hate to see anyone stuck with a once wrecked vehicle. Keith/C4-5/NJ ** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
[QUAD-L] Oldest Quad?
From everyone's experience, who is the oldest quad you are aware of, living or not living. I wonder what our real life expectancy is. The oldest quad I knew was a c5/6 46 yr post who passed away at 62. Thanks! Paul Jacobson 43 years old, c5/6 complete, 3.5 years post San Diego, CA

Despite how hot under the collar it could make me, I really enjoyed e-mailing with him. He made me think in ways I probably wouldn't have otherwise. Maybe if I can dig up his e-mail address all see how he is doing. That is if you don't have any other information I'm unaware of. [QUAD-L] Gloves?
I have a peddle exercise thing that I just got. I'm trying to find a way to strap my hands to the peddles. I recall while in rehab they had these Velcro glove things that were cool, but I can't find anything like it. They wrapped around your wrists, then had a strap you wrapped around a handle. I used to pull weights. Thanks, Greg
Re: [QUAD-L] Gloves?
Greg, I also have one of those pedal bike things (Oxy cycle). I am using mine for my legs. My right leg is paralyzed and will not stay on the pedal, so my aid tied my foot to the pedal with a pantyhose. She is the only one that knows how to tie it so my foot doesn't fall out. When I was in therapy, they also used the Velcro gloves for the hands and Velcro straps for the feet. [QUAD-L] Tim c3/4
Tim, thats quite an accomplishment attaining all that schooling. knowing all the challenges you got through to get your doctorate degree will help you get through anything and pull through i was telling my counselor today that regular walking life was like playing tennis with one ball, and quad life is like starting a tenns game with 4 balls then constantly adding until you have to decide which balls to hit because you cant keep up with all of them, lol i think the people that have the biggest problems with being disabled are the ones who cant prioritize their issues. ron c7
Re: [QUAD-L] 9.5 years for me in quadadise
Congratulations, what an accomplishment for you and in a short amount of time. . At T3 are you fairly independent? I'm not really familiar with what that level would allow you to for yourself. I always find it amazing what persons can do at different levels of SCI. What will be your specialty? I can imagine all you would go through to get a doctorate, it is so much work I am sure, writing a dissertation. I wish everybody would those their picture on the Yahoo . I always like to place a picture with a name. Group,http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/DisabledOfAmerica/ I really agree with your attitude on how you look at it. Some people cannot look at or accept disability in another person. Way to go! Cheers to you. Dana ** Get a sneak peak of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Re: [QUAD-L] Gloves?
Greg, Try looking here for gloves http://store.accesstr.com/Page.bok?template=gloves_indexhttp://store.accesstr.com/Page.bok?template=gloves_index . The unfortunate thing about our special needs gloves, is that they aren't cheap. But maybe you can get an idea of what you need here.
