The corset or binder has several purposes from what I've read. It seems to not be for everybody though. It seems to be more important for the higher quads and newer injuries. The c4-4 quad I work for has used one the better part of 3 decades and doesn't like to go without it when in his chair.

The one that I'm using is only 9 inches tall also. Because I have a long torso I use a 10 inch regular binder above the binder that I use for my lower abdominal region. You need to adhere the colostomy/urostomy to the skin and then the binder will help prevent any problems. If you get the right
