Ok. I'm not anti-hunting! I totally understand how nature needs balances with
predators and prey. But when it comes to species that have been endangered
before, well that's why I signed this. Yes, they probably aren't endangered
anymore. I didn't mean to get anybody's undies in a bunch. I wasn't trying to
persuade anyone to change their minds about hunting. Like I said, I'm not
anti-hunting. I didn't think this would cause debate. I just thought some of
us might want to sign it, that's all. No big deal if you don't want to.

Well, first off...forgive me to have pointed you out. I truly thought that
your posting was from an ANTI.

The reason behind these shootings are to keep these wolves population in
check. And at best they are only done in certain areas of Alaska to help keep
the caribou's population up. As crazy as this sounds, if this didn't happen the
wolves would overload the caribou herds.

They have been doing this since the mid 70's on and off.

Be truthful the last I heard they were spading the wolves and relocating them.

Again...sorry for pointing your post out. I do live in New Jersey and the
Anti's here, about the bears, are out of hand. Although, I don't hunt bear...I
sure don't want my hunting privileged to be stopped either.

PS. I wouldn't hunt anything I wouldn't eat. For me that's deer and turkey.
Wait, I never hunted turkey, but would love to.

I guess they are mad about them using helicopters to shoot from. Makes you
wonder if its about love of wolves or hatred of armed men in helicopters. You
can't get anyone that is a decent shot to hunt wolves on foot. I'm not joining
the let's make a silly law club. We got real problems folks. I saw animal
control take a dog away from a woman becausae of the condition of her
apartment. They didn't clean up the apartment, or the woman. But the dog is now
safe!

Another for the good guys! No excuses being filthy, there are homes for
people who cannot keep it together. Why subject an innocent animal. I know
it is tuff, but human services should had intervened.

I guess I loose sympathy whenever it is a problem in Alaska. Its the state with
more money than sense. Its were deadbeat dads go to escape childsupport. Nobody
pays taxes but oil companies and the other 49 states.
A bunch of people saw a film of a wolf being shot from a helicopter and decided
it was wrong and they had nothing to do. Let's make a law ;-)!
Don't get me wrong, I'm sympathetic to animals. I only hunt keys and glasses
but I never eat them. I use to think you should eat anything you shoot untill I
shot a rat.
If your for it, great, If your against it, cool. Just be sure to check what
they write since politics and law involves propaganda. Thats right, they are
telling half truths. Lying is better because it implies the source doesn't know
the truth. Half truths imply the source has lost the truth.(heard it in a
movie)

Aerial gunning of wolves to artificially boost game populations is brutal,
inhumane and unnecessary.

Representative to support legislation to put an end to this horrible
practice.

 http://action.defenders.org/site/R?i=29T_FjpDcYcrbfezDLpTWA.. Take Action

Time is limited -- we need as many people to sign on as possible! Please
forward this message to everyone you know who cares about wildlife!

Dear Angelique,

Alaska's brutal practice of aerial gunning has already claimed the lives of
at least 670 wolves, with state officials even proposing to offer a $150
bounty to increase the killing.

And now even the Greater Yellowstone wolves could face this barbaric killing
as Idaho and Wyoming propose aerial gunning programs of their own.

 http://action.defenders.org/site/R?i=8WNaBVe-GAt-WAV-NouYcw.. We can stop
Alaska's aerial gunning dead in its tracks -- and prevent the slaughter
from spreading to other states. Sign our Citizen Cosponsor petition urging
your Representative to support a bill that will stop Alaska's senseless
slaughter.

A conservation champion, Rep. George Miller (CA) will soon introduce
legislation -- the Protecting America's Wildlife (PAW) Act -- to restrict
this awful practice. But his bill needs your support to win passage of this
wolf-saving measure.

 http://action.defenders.org/site/R?i=3FbHst7qzJp56hCexR3PVg.. We need you
to urge your Representative to become an original cosponsor of Rep. Miller's
legislation! Sign the Citizen Cosponsor petition today!

By signing on, you'll be joining tens of thousands of Americans who support
stopping Alaska's aerial gunning of wolves.

This summer, Defenders Action Fund advocates will hand-deliver the petition
to your Member of Congress, sending a powerful message on behalf of our
wolves. http://action.defenders.org/site/R?i=NiIopCNon7c4zQoGcX87oQ..
Your action today can make a powerful difference in stopping Alaska's brutal
policy -- and preventing if from spreading elsewhere.

Congress must put an end to barbaric aerial gunning of wolves in Alaska --
and stop it before it spreads to threaten our Yellowstone wolves.
http://action.defenders.org/site/R?i=gCou-iRaM0iOw8Fjy3PcTQ.. You can help
ensure the passage of this important legislation -- sign the Citizen
Cosponsor petition today!
