I have several of them, they're not uncommon. SCSi devices with only one
connector aren't that uncommon either.
Interesting! I have a plenty of various SCSI peripherals, but never seen
it.

I have been told, I think on the Vintage Mac list, that 68040 machines
cannot encode MP3s but could decode them. I downloaded a 2.8 meg MP3,
then installed QuickTime 4, which says it can play the file. When I try,
however, QuickTime begins, then gives an error message, and stops. I

Does anybody know an MP3 player or decoder that will work on a 68040
25mhz Centris 650 with 100 megs of RAM? Are there any MP3 encoders that
will run on 68040?
QuickTime 4 for 68ks will not play mp3s.
There is only one program I have yet to find that actually will, its
called MpegDec. It works
Thanks for suggesting MpegDec to play mp3s. The software works great on
my Centris 650.
