That isn't complicated at all is it? What if you don't accept money for it

I believe it is 8.1, same as the limit on my Q950. To be sure go to
apple.com/support and keyword 840av.
And please, nobody complain about going to apple.com support. That's their
job.

Victoria, I didn't scroll down far enough to see that you were asking about
video software--thought your question was concerning OS. I'm also at this
time going through the same process as you concerning video. Apple Video
just freezes, so I suppose it is for OS7.
Only, I'm stuck at the very

Look at Belkin USB VIDEOBUSII for Mac. Comes with install CD that includes
Strata VideoShop 4.5.1. You would need 8.6 and a USB to SCSI adaptor.
OR..Find Strata VideoShop 4.5.1 somewhere--maybe download from Limewire?

Me too! I recently decided to upgrade my 950 so my wife would stay off my
G4 for her word processing. One guy here wanted $256 for 256 megs! I too
would like to know another way (much cheaper) to add ram. I recently bought
a full gig of ram for my G4 for $80.

Nancy,
Two things to try.
1. Drives usually require a teeny jumper on the back to be plugged in in a
particular way. Check with the mfr for proper configuration.
2. After that is correct, start up your machine using your OS CD and
holding down C on the keyboard. Use the Drive Setup utility
