The LC475 will only accept a 3.5 inch harddrive.

How big a drive do you want to use? Im not quite sure but i dont think
theres much of a limit. You could probably put in a 9GB. Is that big enough?

It appears to have 2 DSPs on it. Maybe its an upgrade to Quadra 840AV
standards for older Quadras?

Actually, the reason I wanted high resolution scans was to see if mine shared
the clock tripling circuitry with the 100MHz version. I havent found any
info on clock tripling these cards.

Using a combination of Q and 9150 bezels, you can do what you want to

Ive done LOTS of research. First of all, the DayStar 80MHz PowerPro has 4
772 pin slots on it, so I will definitely get at least 384MB RAM total, maybe
512 if the 64MBs will work on the PowerPro. Second, I know that by just
increasing the bus speed on the PowerPro, and thus the processor, it

Because when it was bought, my Quadra 950 cost about $36,000.

I just cleaned out my closet, and would like to set my Quadra 950 up. It has
a DayStar PowerPro with RAM expansion in it. First of all, if anyone has any

Also, I would like to get a hold of a L2 cache card for these,
Id like to get some use out of my 80MHz, PPC601 Quadra, just not sure
quite what to do with it. So Im curious what people here use their Quadras
for,
not counting it being used as a main computer.

Im not talking signifigantly faster. Just whatever extra MHz are
possible. I dont imagine that 55MHz is unreasonable, especially with extra
cooling.

MicroMac used a 40MHz 68040 chipped to run at 50MHz. So is 40MHz the fastest
for a 68040? There are 50MHz 68030 upgrades too. Are those rated at 50MHz?
Anything I missed?

It is DEFINITELY a Centris 650 board. You dont need to double check, it will be a
waste of time, because it is DEFINITELY a Centris 650.
Anyway, Im interested in this accelerator that will work in a Quadra 950. Does it
plug into the processor slot or the PDS slot?

Yes, the Centris 650 board with 50MHz 68040 you have seems to outperform
a Quadra 800. However, a Quadra 800 can be clock chipped to 44MHz, or 48MHz
if you dont need the serial ports. That processor speed combined with an
equivelant bus speed, however, may outperform a 50MHz 68040 on a
Hello. I have a Pro Audio Spectrum 16 card that I will be using to
record audio to a hard drive or RAM disk. I have some questions about using
a computer for this purpose. Would it be more important to have a faster
processor speed or faster bus speed? How much would level 2 cache help?
The setup that was being used when I did the recording was this:
Quadra 950
PowerPro 80MHz, no memory, no cache
130MB motherboard memory
1GB 5400rpm MicroNet drives
Pro Audio Spectrum 16 sound card
Now I have 32MB installed on the PowerPro, and 152MB on the board.
Should I get more
