Ive done LOTS of research. First of all, the DayStar 80MHz PowerPro has 4
772 pin slots on it, so I will definitely get at least 384MB RAM total, maybe
512 if the 64MBs will work on the PowerPro. Second, I know that by just
increasing the bus speed on the PowerPro, and thus the processor, it wont go
faster
than 85 or 90MHz. Third, I know a 100MHz 601 can make it to or almost to
120MHz. The reason I want to mod the card i have is because it has the 72 pin
RAM
slots on it.
By the way I have an article on the LEM page on how to chip the Apple
Quadra upgrade card and PowerPros with no RAM expansion, and the Sonnet 100MHz
cards.
The card I have wont run unless the computer its in is 25 or 33MHz, and
no matter what, it runs at 80 MHz. The other cards have a jumper to set a
multiplier, and I was wondering if all the circuitry was on my card to simply
set
it to run off a multiple of the CPU. At the very least, I could run my Quadra
at a 40MHz bus instead of 33MHz, with the DayStar card working.
