It seemed that with Mozilla, if I downloaded it and left it alone (i.e. did not disable cookies or mess about with any of the cookies options), I could go to sites requiring cookies with no problem. In the case of gmail, though, I encountered the same problem you did. I had selected the disable cookies option before faffing about with gmail. Even after I enabled cookies and left the browser wide open, I still got the same you need to enable cookies message. Rebooting the machine produced no change. At that point, I simply decided that I was done fooling around with gmail and wrote it off. So has it come to the point where even an email list about vintage macs requires OSX and the latest browser? If that is really the case, I'll be saying goodbye as well. I dunno about the latest borwser bit. WaMCom Mozilla turns 3 years old in July this year (if I'm not mistaken). In Internet terms, it's ancient. As much as I enjoy wringing the most out my older hardware, it seems that there's a point of diminishing returns. Me, I'm hoping I can use the WaMCom Mozilla for another couple years, but I readily acknowledge that this might be Wishful Thinking on my part because there are already some things I can't do with it. :/ Best, James Fraser -- Quadlist is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... I have used Gmail on my PB 520 with Netscape (don't remember if it's version 3 or 4) without many problems. Every now and then I'll get a broken pipe error, but not too often. [q] Sorry, I won't do google groups.
Indeed many of us are now boycotting google due to their capitulation to the Chinese beliefs that: 1. Their citizens should be protected from truth and opinion 2. That dogs and cats are perfect substitutes for animal fur 3. That mandatory abortions rather than mandatory sterilization is appropriate 4. That yellow, blue and green rivers flowing into Russia are OK 5. That the Japanese still owe them 'something' 6. That after the tsunami land grabbing in SE Asia rather than helping victims was cool 7. That drilling for oil in Japanese waters is their right 8. That Tibet does not exist 9. That imports from the US should have a 25% tariff 10. That exports to the US should have a 2% tariff 11. That Taiwan should be brought back into the 'mother land' et cetera .. -- Quadlist is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
