[qubes-users] Qubes 3.2 dnsmasq update?

2017-10-04 Thread Ron Hunter-Duvar

Hi,

Saw the news earlier today about the major dnsmasq vulnerabilities
(remote code execution), and already received the update for the
debian-8 template, but not for the fedora-23 template or dom0.

Anyone know of an ETA for this?

Thanks,

Ron

Re: [qubes-users] i3: Help auto-moving Qubes Manager to another Workspace (SOLVED)

2017-10-04 Thread 'One7two99' via qubes-users
Hello,

after a lot of trial and error I found out that the following line in
~/.config/i3/config will auto-move the Qubes Manager window to another
workspace:
assign [class="Qubes-manager"] $workspace10

Using the 2nd value from the WM_CLASS(STRING) which I got using xprop and
clicking into the qubes window did the trick.

WM_CLASS(STRING) = "qubes-manager", "Qubes-manager"

Strange behaviour:
The Qubes window will only automove to the workspace when it is opened via
right click on the Qubes Manager icon and the choosing "Open VM Manager". If
you double left click on the icon it will open in you workspace which is
currently active.
I've checked the WM_CLASS(STRING) with xprop but it is exactly the same like
when open the window via right click and "Open VM Manager".

Re: [qubes-users] Fedora25 fails updates unless I reboot the machine 9.13.17

2017-10-04 Thread 'Vincent Adultman' via qubes-users
I'm experiencing a similar problem which I've reported a bug for at
https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/3135

If you're still encountering the issue with the update proxy failing too, could
you check the output of "journalctl -u qubes-updates-proxy.service" when it
fails please? Marek also asked whether I have a broken network cable (n/a) or
poor wifi (signal seems strong enough, i.e. no dropouts and problem occurs
across different wifi networks), so it would be good to know that for you too.

If you don't like github, happy to post any responses here into the ticket I
have open.

I've found a workaround (specified in the ticket) that fixes it for me, but
interested to know if we're dealing with one problem, or different ones.

Thanks.

[qubes-users] Help with getting touchpad to work

2017-10-04 Thread CANNON
Testing a CF-19 Panasonic toughbook with Qubes. Currently 3.2 but having issues
with getting touchpad to work.
I have seen from some research that the touchpad likely is connected via a
pci-usb device and one has to choose
between touchscreen with WWAN and touchpad.

Anyone have knowledge of how to get the touchpad to work on these?
Thank you

TL:DR. Why not just ask a simple question?

Make them as large as you need them. Just use caution or you may run out
of space.

[qubes-users] Weird login problem

2017-10-04 Thread blacklight
So i recently decided to try subgraph out as a hvm in qubes, first everything
went well, i choose lvm and everything installed fine, i could also boot up the
system, so i thought everything was alright, until i logged in, because after i
log in, the system starts acting weird. It seems like only the bottem half of
the screen displays subgraph, while the upperhalf still shows the background
image of the login screen.

Things i have tried:
Reinstalling
Logging in with different graphical modes.
Launching the vm with the video type changes from xen to cirrus.(this will make
the vm freeze at boot after grub)

Things to note:
I have tried booting the live enviorment, which seems to work perfectly fine,
and doesnt show the issue i have with the installed version.

I hope if anyone here has suggestions of what to do next?

A big thanks to all who read this :)

Greetings, blacklight447

Actually no. The error reads:

Whoops. A critical error has occured. This is most likely
a bug in Qubes Manager.

TypeError: setChecked(self, bool): argument 1 has unexpected type 'str'
at line 9
of file /usr/bin/qubes-vm-settings
