Re: [qubes-users] Re: Someone should port this RDP Windows windower thing for Qubes
Soo, I gave it a try and guess what? MS Office artifacts are still there, with freerdp it is even worse than with native seamless mode. Apparently (even if I check "turn hardware graphics acceleration off") Office uses some obscure DirectX calls that translate to X11 in very unpleasant way that is very unfriendly to window decorator metrics, sloppy focus and virtual desktops. I remember I had similar problems with Wine/Crossover as well. https://imgur.com/ff4QoWM -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. Damn it, this group auto moderation kills messages with imgur hyperlinks on spot, however.. I gave it a try and it is even worse. Artifacts of the same origin appear on MS Office windows with freerdp just like with seamless mode. Apparently it uses some DirectX calls that translate to X11 methods that are extremely unfriendly to sensible desktop environment with virtual desktops, sloppy focus and custom window decorations. [qubes-users] HCL - Lenovo ideapad Y700
Hello, As far as I can tell the following features fully work: HVM, IOMMU. I don't know if TPM works or not (haven't tested it). As far as machine compatibility goes I haven't tested sleep and suspension/hibernation. I also haven't tested the on-board nvidia GTX 970M for compatibility with Qubes. Networking works, both wifi and ethernet. If there's any more information I can provide -- aside from an HCL.cpio.gz file please tell.
