Suggests, too.

discuss this further? It seems counterintuitive to me.
I'd expect every package which my package code calls to be a dependency.
We're short of vocabulary for the true pedants here, because I could see
the vignettes being described as something my package calls, but I
don't mean that.

Greetings, and apologies for the braino leading to my first posting to
the general list. I'm reposting here, and changing how I attached the
files; they were hard to work with in the other post.
There's a coalescing group which is working to imitate Dirk's fine
translation of CRAN to APT, in
graph, run CHECK with
R_CHECK_FORCE_SUGGESTS=true.
Then the affected packages are checked. Perhaps this can be noted
with a signature.
Whew!

reputation as an overengineer, so..
In any case, I agree that the earlier check doesn't add anything
except possible satisfaction by the binary-package maintainers.

So
was the initial itch I was trying to scratch, 'Depends' only on
R. But if I have to recursively expand according to these 'build

CRAN and go grok Bioconductor. Yow.
So: does this seem silly, or is that just The Way It is?

My apologies for not just installing a windows box and trying it; I
don't own any licenses at the moment, and I kind of like it that
way. :)
It seemed like a doc clarification was in order, whichever way it went.

PERL ( . is concatenation ) would come just behind C and maybe Java
in that list. However, that doesn't materially damage
So it seems to me that defining addition of strings to be
concatenation is a reasonably widespread convention.

to add the extra data to
PACKAGES, the current implementation would work, and I could just run
my hacked version and get at what I wanted. But I know of at least
one other package-heirarchy maintainer who might like this, and
subsuming it in the base function would be nice.
