I have had the same problem and it appears to be a problem with Rack.
Solutions have been posted to propose a work around and I believe a ticket
has been submited to the Rack guys...
Basically, edit the following file rack-1.0.0/lib/rack/handler/fastcgi.rb
(you should find it in your gem
