Im thinking about buying an SB Radio to use in the bathroom. The specs
dont mention anything about humidity, so I was wondering if there are
some Radio users here on the forum that can share their experiences on
the topic.
Im mainly concerned about the humidity that is built up during
usch, the funkturm stream shows the same behaviour on sb radio. no sound
only rebuffers to 3-6% all over again...

Yep it only gets better, well for me, after listening to it for a while
now, even if you took all the features away from it, I am uttley amazed
at how good the sound quality is, dont get me wrong my boom is better
and more bass, however with my ears, its certainly giving that bad boy a

I'm sure it's the majority case. You're probably not aware but the Boom

Thanks for testing. Not good. :-(
But then I have been pondering for some time if I should get a new
Radio or a used Boom for the same price, I guess that's an easy decision
now.

I think it depends on how humid it gets in the room. Obviously, moisture
can be bad for electronics if they aren't specifically designed to be in
that type of harsh environment. I assume you have an exhaust fan in the
bathroom. If it's fairly effective, you should be alright as long as you
Well,I thought that this had been corrected but today the sync is so far
off that it is almost like unsynced. There was a day that there was
message on the SB3 waiting for sync and that day things seemed to be
getting better. But not today. I think this is a serious issue because

I believe that I remember something being mentioned that it was only
rated for a non-condensing environment. So not in a steam room but
probably OK in a bathroom - the mirrors take up most of the humidity
anyway.

It wasn't recommended by logitech, but I've got my beta unit in the
bathroom, and haven't had any trouble yet. No promises that it won't
affect it any day now, only that I haven't had any issues for the time
I've had it. (a few months i think)

So now that I've settled in a bit with my Squeezebox Radio (already
having a bunch of other SB products in my house), I see a crying need
for some improvement of the Preset buttons in two areas.
1) They're still pretty buggy (I trust that ultimately Logitech will
fix this). Specifically, it

Are you suggesting that mirrors have a magnet-like effect to attract
and remove water vapor from the air?
If you're getting condensation on mirrors, you're likely also getting
it on walls, ceilings, and other things

I have said too much. Suffice to say it definitely did NOT come from a
Logitech employee. :)

Ok, is it just my SB radio, or it standard...the volume is really low. I

Is this a problem for anyone else?

I have the same issue (if it is one) but since it sounds great at 75+
its kind of a nonissue for me

I'm watching this thread closely. I have a Boom, plan to buy a Touch for
the Living Room, and plan to buy 3 Radio's for the rest of the House.
I want all the Units SOLELY for Sync. If Sync is not flawless I need to
rethink this.

I had the same thoughts on my Boom.
Currently its on the nightstand and 20-25 is good...mainly cause its
right by my head.
I moved it to the kitchen, which is where it will go once I buy some
Radios, and to just hear it across the kitchen it needed to be at 50-55.
It concerned me as I
When my radio is connected to squeezebox server, the alarm volume never
goes above what the most recently used radio volume is. I'm testing this
using the Bongo Tech sound as my alarm. Alarms are set to fade in. I
have the alarm volume set at 81. If I don't play the radio after setting
the alarm,
