Best practice is to have the server wired if possible.

ever has a screen saver but even that doesnt shut anything off. the pc

Second case is if I shut down everything, inc nas, and reboot but
without web connection. Then Software update propose me Cancel or Help,
where help try to connect to mysb.com...which fail for the obvious
reason, there is no web. Hitting Cancel do however his job very well. I
agree ;-)

No, but it offer me to update to 7.5.3 r9283 regardless if SBR booted
with 7.5.1 or 7.5.3
Here I'm puzzled, by such kind of absence of choice, this sounds like a
bug...

If you connect your Radio to your 7.5.1 NAS, then go to Radio > Settings

With SBR on battery pack it even resume to fw 7.5.3 once power button is
short pressed and lets say one day after I switch it back on. Might be
due that in the mean time my wi-fi is turned off, so SBR loose contact
with the server. Anyway result is that 7.5.3 is still kept hiden in my
SBR and I ha

You must do a Factory Reset and set up the Radio from scratch if you
want to change it's MySB account, there is no edit feature for this.
SB Radio Factory Reset =
- power off Radio (press & hold POWER button, see "goodbye" on screen)
- press & hold + button
- power ON Radio
- continue holding
I have opened a dialogue with these guys:

They may be able to offer a drop in solution for those interested. They
make each one to order and have a large selection of cells, including
the Sanyo 2700mAh cells which I have is the best soluti
PS
I registred a new account on mysqueezebox.com

Thanks, this is helpful.
When I click on "players" on mysqueezebox.com it says that there is no
player registred. So that should explain at least something ... but
curriously I use the identical account information both for
mysqueezebox.com and for my SB Radio.
The radio lists:
Firmeware 7.5.3-r
thanks for setting things straight.

1) the quickest way is to press and hold the power button, so the Radio
goes completely off (not just standby). Then you'll need to turn it on
again (at least to standby) before the next alarm. The completely blank
screen is your best visual clue you need to do this.
2) It has been months since I
Simple questions: 1. If you get up before the alarm what do you push so
alarm doesn't go off? 2. When alarm goes off, what is quickest and
easiest way to turn it off without disabling the alarm for the next
day? Thanks.

A mate of mine has just picked up a Radio from Ebay with an 18V PSU.
Does this mean it's a very early unit & will the official 12V battery
pack work in it?

Once the stream is started the player does not need the server to
continue to stream that station.
It can potentially stream for days with a blue icon (no server) until
you interrupt it with a player command.

The icon turns red if it loses wifi connection. A blue icon means that
it cannot find SBS.
Try power cycling all your network gear (wireless access point, router
switch).

Your SqueezeBox needs to be connected to MySqueezeBox.com (and not to a
local SqueezeBoxServer).
A player is always connected to exactly ONE server, i.e. it is either
I am very happy, Synology just updated Squeezebox Server to 7.5.3
