Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] In Squeezbox radio mode or?

2018-02-18 Thread Michael Herger

So the Squeezbox mode is the better one? I thought that the newer one
was an updated and better one that's why i changed to UE. :)

While UE tried to simplify/streamline the experience, support is poorer
than for SB. If you want to listen to your local music or one of the
officially not supported services like Spotify, Qobuz, Youtube etc.,
then SB is the way to go.

Why are you using your in SB mode? What is the advantages?

It supports all my SB devices, not only the Radio. And I'm still playing
my own collection of mp3/flac files. And I use Spotify. And, and, and...
If all you want is a radio which plays a few stations using the built-in
buttons, then UE is perfect. In most other cases I'd recommend using SB.

because IPeng Squeezbox Radio version may not work on UE mode...

Yep.

Witch is the original mode of this radio? Did it come with Squeezbox and
then someone developed UE Smart Radio?!

I don't know. If it has "UE" on the front, then UE SR, otherwise SB. But
it shouldn't really matter. I'm using a few UE units with SB firmware.
Never used uesmartradio.com (except when developing).

Hi!

I'm using Ipeng UE so my guess is that i'm on UE Smart Radio mode
because IPeng Squeezbox Radio version may not work on UE mode...
Witch is the original mode of this radio? Did it come with Squeezbox and
then someone developed UE Smart Radio?!

When in Squeezbox Radio mode it should not say switch to Squeezbox Radio
at the Advanced Settings?! Should it not say switch to UE Smart Radio?

I'd says so, yes. One other difference is that the UE screen would use
blueish highlight color. SB is more colorful (or more flexible). Send a
screenshot from a menu and I'll tell you what firmware you use :-).
