Not sure which question you are asking. It is trivial to set up shares on a linux server to store the files and to store the executables using SAMBA on the server. You just set up a drive letter to the share, set permissions and you are set. I expect there are other solutions like SAMBA. If

I am running R:Base on a MacBook Air using MacOS high Sierra with the help of Parallels (about $100) and an installation of Windows 7 Pro. ($300). Parallels is available for Liniux as well. Another developer put me on to Parallels. Ir runs Windows in a Windows all screen session (or a window) w
