So it has been a little over a month of almost exclusive use of the fixed
gear SimpleOne (I did ride a few days on my Homer, here and there). Though
I don't have the passion for fixed gear that I hear from some people, I can

Nice bike. I was afraid for a second when I saw the picture. Against that
fence I thought Grant had started putting double top tubes on the bike.
My Quickbeam has been my commuter for the last 7 years and my go to bike for

I read the list via gmail and three different ads for what seems to be the
same bar showed up at three different times.
Not a big deal, though I think that one ought to edit one's ad offline and
post it once -- a rule I often neglect because I am too hasty and leave
things out; I will try to
And Google sometimes gets over excited about posts, delivering the same one
multiple times.

I just purchased a San Marcos 51cm in 650b for my girlfriend at the Soma
website sale. She does not know this yet and I'm gonna try to build it in
secret, although that will be hard. I was not planning on buying one, it
was an impulse purchase while looking through the website.
Hope she likes

Beautiful day in Brooklyn today, I was at the Botanical Gardens and saw the
first Atlantis (or any other Riv) in the flesh. Gentleman was older with
some friends on Rivish bikes and looked like they were going to a bike

Good point, Steve. I was trying to say that the Dream Bar was more a 1970s
bar, whereas the Noodle is more a 1950s bar in the mold of the Philippe
Professionel. (There were other 1950s bars, some of which had almost no
ramps at all.)

I so envy you and your 8 years car free. On the positive though whenever I
see another on a bicycle it makes me smile.

Not sure if that is some snarky comment or not but you should consider
yourself blessed. I rode around for about 2 hours today on my Bombadil
with tons of bikes on the road and didn't see another bike remotely Rivish,
let alone a Rivendell.

I consider myself blessed for getting to go on Riv rides with the likes of
Doug. Nothing but friendliness and genuineness from that man.
