hey all, for sale is a Waterford built 63cm AHH. Its prob 5 years old, Im
the 3rd owner. Its got scratches and paint chips but no dings or dents. I
rode this bike a fair bit. The brake cable guides were moved from under the
top tube to on top,and the top tube is a VERY SLIGHT
I will admit that the time I rode the loop road, it was probably 8-9
yrs ago, and in the month of October. At that time, I didn't have any
issues with parked cars. I'm sure it's different this time of year,
though.

Very interesting comparisons and ideas about effects on speed and handling.
Wonder what would happen if you put ultralight 650c rims and tires on your bike
to make for light wheel weight and see if they spin up faster.
Or, perhaps, a frame designed for 700c won't work its best with another
I put many miles on 26X2.35 and 700C X 2.35 Big Apples, both Regular and
Liteskin. They roll very very well for their anvil-like weight (though you
certainly feel them on the hills) and they are the one tire I've ridden in
all my life that can survive our bosque goathead hell without sealant!

I would anti-recommend the Loop road in Acadia. There are just too many
cars parked in the right lane, even where it's clearly marked No Parking.
It is neither enjoyable or safe. Do be careful on Cadillac, there many
blind switchbacks, and not much of a shoulder.

I was wondering if anyone has experience dealing with a damaged decal.
The bike is an Atlantis. Not the end of the world, but the seat-tube decal
is cracked and bubbling off. Does anyone know of a method of removal
without otherwise damaging the paint? No decal would look better than a

That really sounds like a question worth calling Rivendell. As
unattractive as a damaged decal may be, leaving well enough alone may be
better than damaging the clear coat or paint. Time for advice from the
pros.

Count me as one who finds the WTB SST pretty close to a B17. You can't
really compare plastic and leather saddle widths directly because of the
leather saddles' frames and rivets. The SST is about 145mm wide, about
identical to a b17 between the rivets.
I haven't taken mine on a long ride yet,
