I have a Soma quill adapter with a 40mm threadless stem which allows me to use
a Jones Loop Bar on my 1985 MB-2, and it works great. I chose the Soma because
it was the adapter that I could find with the greatest length to get the bars
way up high.

Not as elegant as a Nitto stem, you can get a quill stem adapter and put a
threadless style stem on it. MTB stems are available down to 30mm or so,
thanks to the downhill crowd. Or, you could get one of those adjustable
angle stems and point it up high. That would reduce the reach. Heavy and

Maybe I got a bad set? I had terrible ghost shifting problems from mine! After
several years of fiddling with other things to try to fix I replaced them with
Dura Ace dt shifters (converted to bar end). Problem solved.

That stem is incredible. I can see myself building a bike around one. From
the comments on the Radavist page, it sounds like Crust is having Nitto
make them, and they intend to be available soon. Given Crust's ability to
stock things, I'm not holding my breath. I do hope it happens, though.
