A funky monkey could only be used if you changed to a 27.2 seatpost with
the proper seat tube shim. The Roco has a 29.8 post.
If the seat lug teardrop thingy didn't go so far down you could attach a
31.8mm front drop cable stop with either a curved or flexible noodle to

Max, that is an outstanding packing job. Would certainly meet Rivendell's
approval. Based on my experiences with prepping frames for shipment I'd say
you have a few hours invested in this masterpiece.

It was already on the bike when I received it a few years back. It’s made
of thick leather and I believe it to be from Velo Orange. I could be wrong
though. I’ve come close to removing it a few times, but it adds some
functional personality to the bike, so I’ve just left it.
Brand new, it's still in the original packaging from Rivendell. $160,

That's an interesting project. The Puritan in me insists on "One Ring One
Cog One God" (and no g-d freewheel) as an old t-shirt from the fixie fad
era proclaimed, but I also have worked up devious ways to have my
single-fixed gear cake and multiple gear options to eat too.

Just adding more similar data here...
My Silver1 shifter set up on the Riv bar-end pod shifts a Sram Rival
through 11 speeds (11 to 42) with a 33t chainring. It does so very nicely.
Before mounting this shifter (last week), I tried out a Suntour barcon,
which could not get up to the last,
I’m looking for a pair of gently used 700x28 tires of the “supple” genre (Grand
Bois, Compass, Supple Vitesse, etc.) for a newly purchased bike. Got a pair

Ditto what Mr. Rose said. I installed one on an old '72 Fuji Finest
coupled with a 5-speed freewheel on the rear and it works great. I have to
admit that it took me a while to adjust to the look of that chain guard,
but I've gotten used to it.

You may not get many impartial views here? That’s the crankset that came on my
Clem and it is one of my favorite things about the bike. Looks may be
subjective but I think it looks great. The gearing has been ideal for me,
rarely using the 28 & never spinning out (those days are likely gone).
