I went Cheviot for just those purposes. Actually for rear-mounted child
seat but the ability to stand without worry is a big plus in either child
seat scenario. Also figured that a step-through frame would be a bonus as
the years go by. And the Cheviot is still a great bike for trails and S24Os.
Thinking about it for a bit, the only drawback to the Cheviot is the lack
of bottle cage mounts. The 55 has one. A second one could go on the down
tube as on the Sam. Sure there is a reason for it being the way it is.
Using a Pass and Stow porteur rack with a Freight Baggage rack bag so there

On-One UK sill has 25.4 in white.
Another option would be the Origin 8 Gary II bar. Pretty similar shape. A
bit more drop. Probably worth the $30.

Try Aerotech Designs. The urban pedal pushers are pretty good. Less baggy than
the MUSA not as tight as swerve. And they have lots of places to stash things.
Left hand entry takes getting used to. But doable.
Chrome telegraph are good as well not sure if they are current production.

I just measured the BBs on the Bombadil. Just under 47 at about 50 psi. Synergy
rims. These have been on the bike for a month or so.
Would be tight if it works.

What can you fit on the bike?
Hetres might be a little delicate for some of the routes. I have a few
tires at home so might have something that could work as a loaner set.
The perfect tire would be something like the upcoming 650B Rock n' Road. Or
if the WTB Nano was made in 650B.
Oh well.

It's a Sam so 650 x 42 with fenders. Probably going to remove the
fenders though so probably up to 45s at least is my guess. The Big Bens
would be nice, but maybe too big.

Yah. The Big Bens would be a squeeze. I know I have a set of Conti Tour
Guards but they are wider than the BBs. And probably one old style Fatty
Rumpkin. Fattys will work but you need to run them at pretty low pressure

It would not be that hard to catch the Manny ride in Marin when they hit
Mill Valley.

Did the ride to China Camp this weekend and checked it out. Weather is
