In the last several months I've had to abandon multiple intended orders due to
out of stock items, and met my needs in other ways. "Here, take my money! Oh,
okay, never mind..."

I hear ya, Michael. Situational discernment. I view Rivendell as carrying long
term, “capital” bike goods. Yes, they have consumable goods (jthey are
necessary for bike builds, afterall), but as you point out, those are easily
gotten many places. With their recent refocusing after being over
OK, so I'm no longer a big bike spender, but I do own three Riv bikes and
feel some loyalty to the company. At 73 all I need are replacement parts.
I haven't ordered anything from RBW in two years because every time I try
to put in an order half of what I need is out of stock.
